Scott Sexton
Scott Sexton is a reporter and columnist for the Winston-Salem Journal. His column is a forum of general interest items, particularly as they pertain to local government and the use of tax money. Scott says, "Hopefully, it will also be a place for the little guy to speak out."
He describes his background as blue collar. "I try to work hard and have very little tolerance of those who do not. My grandfather was a truck driver and my father worked in a tobacco plant. It's only by the grace of God that I get to do this for a living."
When asked why he became a reporter, he says "I thought it was time to work for a living and talk to actual people." When asked what three things define Winston-Salem for him, he replies, "Pulliam's hot dog stand, Bowman Gray Stadium on race night, and "NazT Deac", the crazed dancer at Wake Forest home basketball games."
