"Racists Shouldn't Vote "

According to a recent Stanford study, 56% of Whites have anti-Black attitudes, and that's up from 49% in 2008.

When I read that report, I was ashamed to be White. Who could have imagined that racism in America would actually INCREASE after we elected our first President of color, but that's exactly what has happened.

I was born into segregated times, but my family always believed that racism would end after all the old racists died out. It didn't. For some unknown reason, racism keeps regenerating, just like an unsightly weed. And the racist attitudes, and racist jokes keep getting passed down from generation to generation, as if spreading poison to our children will somehow make them healthier.

So if you know of anyone who displays racist behavior, or plans to vote for a particular candidate just because he's White, then do us all a favor, and ask those folks to stay home on election day. Voting is a privilege, and it's a process that shouldn't be contaminated with ignorance or hate.
