Wendy Poteat
 Wendy Kaye Poteat, MPA is the president and CEO of shift_ed (formerly Say Yes Guilford), a local education non-profit organization working to provide access to support services and scholarships to prepare Guilford County Schools’ students for college, career, and life.
Wendy Kaye Poteat, MPA is the president and CEO of shift_ed (formerly Say Yes Guilford), a local education non-profit organization working to provide access to support services and scholarships to prepare Guilford County Schools’ students for college, career, and life. 
Wendy grew up in Caswell County in a little community named Sweet Gum. She spent two years at NC A&T and graduated from Guilford College with a degree in Criminal Justice and African American History.
Her career began at the Greensboro Partnership as the Government Affairs Manager. Then she spent time as COO of A United Community, Director of Government Affairs at the Winston-Salem Chamber, and Executive Director of The Forsyth Promise United Way of Forsyth County. Poteat came to shift_ed in June 2019.
Wendy is a published author and a certified sports mom. She has three sons, PJ, Tré, and Walter, and three dogs, Chocolate, Lola and Marley.
